Amauroderma renidens

Amauroderma renidens. Furtado (1981).
Amauroderma renidens is a lignicolous polypore species that causes white rot. It is potentially rare, with just three occurrences, all located in Brazil. Despite its small number of occurrences, the species was collected in two distinct phytogeographic domains, the Atlantic Rainforest and the Pantanal. Thereby, it is expected that the species occurs in a broad area, also being potentially present in the Cerrado, but there’s no occurrence for this domain. A. renidens occurs in historically threatened areas that have lost extensive coverage, especially the Atlantic Rainforest and the Pantanal. Based on the few occurrences and the threats that this species suffers together with its habitat, A. renidens is considered Vulnerable based on IUCN criteria.
