Flavoparmelia caperata

Flavoparmelia caperata is a lichen species considered common, that grows in several tree trunks in temperate forests. The species can also be found growing on rocks, a habit restricted to the northern part of its distribution. It has a cosmopolitan distribution throughout temperate forests. Despite being harm by air pollution, because of its large distribution and stable populations that don’t show any apparent declines, F. caperata is considered Least Concern based on the IUCN assessment criteria.
