Guyanoporus albipodus is a fungi species found growing on Dicymbe-dominated forest soils in Guyana. It can be found under Dicymbe corymbosaDicymbe jenmanii, and Pakairaimaea dipterocarpacea. So far, the species was found in two sites inside Guyana and it is expected to occur in neighboring areas with similar habitats, such as Venezuela, northern Brazil, and Colombia. The species is assessed as Data Deficient as there is not enough data to estimate or infer its population parameters and trends, as well as its potential distribution. Nevertheless, it is believed that the species is threatened by climate change and mining. More research is necessary to further increase the knowledge about the species, especially regarding its taxonomy, populations parameters and trends, and ecology.
