Antrodia neotropica
Antrodia neotropica is a saprobic, lignicolous polypore fungus that causes brown rot. So far, it has been found growing exclusively on Baccharis uncinella, a shrub species that occurs in transitions between montane fields and forests in the Atlantic Forest of Brazil. A. neotropica has only two occurrences, both in southern Brazil. However, because of its host distribution, it is expected that the species occurs throughout the Vassourais of the Serra Geral, in montane environments of the Atlantic Forest. This species is threatened by anthropogenic factors, especially fire set by cattle ranchers and climate change, which makes A. neotropica Vulnerable based on the IUCN criteria.
