Clavulina tepurumenga is a fungi species found exclusively in Dicymbe-dominated forests, being commonly found through May-July in the rainy season. So far, the species was found in four sites in Guyana. It is expected that the species occurs in neighboring areas with similar habitats that are under-sampled, such as Venezuela, northern Brazil, and Colombia. Due to the lack of data and registers for the species, its population parameters and trends, as well as potential distribution, can’t be inferred or estimated, leaving the species assessed as Data Deficient. Nevertheless, it is believed that the species can be threatened by climate change, mining, and urban development. It is known that the species compose the native people’s diet, and more research is needed to further understand its harvest, taxonomy, population parameters and trends, and ecology.
